Making cool stuff rules.

Nearly two decades of creating everything from business cards to complete brand overhauls means I've seen trends come and go. I know the difference between passing fads and solid design that actually works. Let me help you create something cool.

I love Kansas and I don't give a care.

Building relationships with people who share my home.

Born in Kansas City and raised in Wichita since before preschool, my influences are informed by actually living here and meeting my neighbors, understanding the market, and knowing what resonates with people in our communities. For whatever reason, I really like living here in Wichita.

I grew up attending The Wichita Independent School from preschool through graduation, where I was deeply involved in academics, soccer, track, and most importantly, the arts. I started film photography in sixth grade and have been heavily involved in creative pursuits ever since. I even directed the first student-directed play with a friend and classmate, and played in a punk rock band that performed at the Eagle's Lodge and other strange buildings around ICT.

When I'm not designing, I'm exploring every corner of this region. Camping, photographing, and soaking up the inspiration that makes my work distinctly "Kansas," or what that means to me. This isn't just where I work; it's where I live, and that perspective shows up in everything I create.

I love visual storytelling.

From film school to designing all the things.

I went to the University of Kansas immediately after high school for film, but switched to journalism before graduating. That media background gives me a unique perspective on storytelling and visual communication that pure design education often misses. I've been working as a designer ever since, building the experience that lets me solve real business problems instead of just making things look really cool, which is pretty fun on its own.

My esoteric design philosophy...

Strategy sounds boring, but it's everything.

Great design isn't about following trends or winning awards (though I've done both). It's about solving real business problems through visual communication that actually works. I design to make your customers take action. That might mean a website that converts visitors, packaging that flies off shelves, or a logo that burns itself into memory.

Pretty is nice, but effective is non-negotiable. Every design decision gets filtered through one question: "Does this help achieve the goal and maintain the brand?" If the answer is no, it doesn't make the cut, no matter how cool it looks.

Working with me is like having a friend who cares about your projects.

What you can actually expect...

It doesn't matter what we're doing: you get my full attention. I choose the projects I accept and don't do things that don't make sense. If you work with me on a monthly basis: it's like having a full-service creative department with senior-level experience at your disposal. I'm responsive. I listen. And I spend a lot of time making sure I understand why you're doing what you're doing.

  • You get my cell number, not a ticket system. Responses in hours, not weeks.
  • A designer who actually listens. Instead of forcing my "vision" on your project.
  • Zero design-speak or jargon. I speak human real good. Let's skip the BS.
  • Someone who cares about your business goals. Not just building my portfolio.
  • Honest feedback and realistic timelines. No sugar-coating or impossible promises.
I have the best newsletter in Wichita, I'm telling you. You've got to trust me. The trust begins here, my friend.

You open your first "newsletter" and think: "What on Earth does this have to do with business, or branding, or marketing? Is this a picture of a duck? Are those old shoes?" - This is how it works and I'll show you.

By subscribing you agree with my Privacy Policy. You may also not get an email for like two weeks, so chill. Well, you'll get a "thank you" type thing but I'm not sure when my next newsletter will be. It'll NEVER BE SPAM. It will be updates about my blog, photography of Wichita or new products I've uploaded to my store.

When I'm not working with clients, I create.

When I'm not working you might find me on photography expeditions throughout Kansas, capturing the landscapes and hidden corners that most people drive past. I'm also deep into making music, both film scores and electronic music, which keeps my creative brain firing on different cylinders.

I'm a house plant enthusiast and love riding my electric bike around Wichita, exploring neighborhoods and finding inspiration in unexpected places. I'm also fascinated by textual criticism and ancient history. I love diving into old texts and historical research, which may make me the only designer in Wichita who gets genuinely excited about manuscript analysis.

These diverse interests feed back into my design work in unexpected ways. The storytelling skills from film and music composition, the attention to detail from photography, the care from gardening, and the research skills from historical study all combine to make me a more effective designer. Plus, they keep me interesting at cocktail parties.

Why I do this.

It's not just about the pretty pictures and nice colors.

I love the moment when a client sees their brand come together for the first time. When all the pieces click and they suddenly understand how design can transform their business. It's not about creating art; it's about creating tools that help businesses succeed and grow.

After nearly 20 years, I still get excited about new projects because every business has a unique story to tell and unique challenges to solve. Whether you're a manufacturing company in Derby trying to showcase complex capabilities or a coffee shop in College Hill wanting to build community, there's always a creative solution waiting to be discovered.

The bottom line...

Experience you can trust. Energy you'll enjoy.

I've been doing this before I knew I was doing this. From endless disposable cameras and broken guitar strings to somehow earning a living making things "look cool". You get nearly two decades of experience combined with the enthusiasm of someone who still loves what they do every day.

I treat every project like it's my own portfolio piece because, honestly, it kind of is. Your success makes me look good, so I'm genuinely invested in making sure your project kicks a*s and drives real results for your business.
